As part of the orientation week for first-year students at HTW Berlin, the International Office had a stand set up to inform new students about the opportunities for studying abroad and to draw their attention to the EUonAIR university alliance.

At the start of the summer semester, EUonAIR was introduced to the new students. Student Board representative Carlos Maza, himself an international student at HTW Berlin, welcomed the new incoming and degree-seeking students during the orientation days and provided information about the EUonAIR university alliance.

ICP Meeting and International Week @ HOGENT

EUonAIR was presented at this year’s ICP network meeting at Hogeschool Gent (HOGENT). The presentation, titled “Turning a Local Initiative into a European Strategy: From BeCOIL to EUonAIR,” focused on how the university alliance is visible and active at HTW Berlin.

EUonAIR local coordinators Sarah Marx (HTW Berlin) and Isabell Steidel (HHN) were interviewed by the DAAD for the article "Europäische Hochschulallianzen: Mit KI auf neuen Wegen" (European University alliances: Breaking new ground with AI). Sarah Marx talks about AI in teaching, the joint virtual campus "MyAI University", and the expertise that HTW Berlin already has in this field.

New Year's meeting of the Berlin and Brandenburg Alliance Universities

In January, representatives of the Berlin and Brandenburg university alliances met at the HTW Berlin campus for a networking event. The aim was to share experiences, learn from each other and gain new inspiration for their own work. Thematic workshops provided space for discussion, networking and establishing new contacts.

Mareike Lisker wins the EUonAIR Innovation Award on Responsible AI

Mareike Lisker, a doctoral researcher at HTW Berlin, has received the EUonAIR Innovation Award on Responsible AI for her work at the intersection of artificial intelligence, social media, ethics, and platform governance. The award is presented by the European University Alliance EUonAIR and honors early-career researchers engaged in responsible AI research.
