Functions of the HTW StudentCard

From winter semester 2023/24, the card will no longer function as a semester ticket. You can find the link to the Deutschlandsemesterticket in LSF.

Your personal StudentCard

Before you start your study programme, a welcome email will be sent to your private email address. The email will contain the login details for your HTW account and information on how to obtain your StudentCard.

Please note the following information:

  • You need to issue your StudentCard yourself using one of the card issuing terminals on the Treskowallee campus, building A, in front of room 149 or on the Wilhelminenhof campus, building F, Foyer entrance F1.
  • After it has been issued, take your StudentCard to a card validation terminal so the current semester and validity period can be printed on it. You will need to validate your card again at the beginning of each semester. Card validation terminals are located on both campuses of HTW Berlin.
    Next semester: As soon as you have successfully re-registered for the new semester, you can then validate your card before the start of the new semester. The old and new semester will then be printed on the back of the card.

Return your card if you de-register

If you de-register, your status as a student will end and also your right to possess the HSC. Please make sure any remaining credit is paid out to you and then return your card to the Student Services department of HTW Berlin, Treskowallee 8, 10318 Berlin.

Replacement issue in case of defect and loss

If your StudentCard is broken or has been lost, you can apply for a new card at the Student Service Center (SSC). This can be done via the SSC contact form or in person during opening hours. If you are responsible for the defect or the card has been lost, you will have to pay a fee for a replacement card (EC card required).

You will receive a document from the SSC with a new QR code to create a new card. You will also need this document to transfer your Mensa credit. Please present this document at the HTW Mensa cash desk.

Payment of remaining credit

Remaining credit for the canteen can be paid out at any HTW Berlin canteen cash desk on presentation of the HSC. Remaining credit for copiers at HTW Berlin can be paid out at the Technical Services Department (ATD) on presentation of the HSC. The contact person for this is Mr. Bernd Räke.
