Early Capitals of Islamic Culture: The Artistic legacy of Umayyad Damascus and Abbasid Baghdad (650 – 950) exhibition

World-famous star objects from the very first centuries of Islam will chart the transition from pre-Islamic to Islamic cultures which took place under the patronage of the Umayyad caliphs in Damascus and the early Abbasid caliphs in Baghdad and Samarra.
