The influence of direct and indirect family owernship on firm performance in Germany and Indonesia

Forschungsprojekt

The objective of this research is to investigate the influence of direct and indirect family ownership on firm performance in Germany and Indonesia. In addition, it is also expected that this research will show whether the relationship between family direct/indirect ownership and firm performance in Germany and Indonesia is similar to each other. Many comparative studies on cross-national family ownership – firm performance relationship focus on Anglo-Saxon and Continental Europe context. The amount of study focusing on the aforementioned relationship in the developing countries such as Indonesia and comparative study between developing and developed countries are still limited. Thus, this study is expected to decrease this limitedness and provide a comprehensive understanding on the influence of family ownership (direct and indirect) on firm performance in developed and developing countries with diverse corporate governance system.
