Student Residence Victor Jara

During the application process, you have had the option to apply for one of our dormitory places. Please note that we only have a limited contingent of dormitory places and cannot guarantee a place to all applicants.

Please note: It is NOT possible for exchange students to apply directly to the dormitory!

Where?

For exchange students there are limited places in the Residence Oberfeldstraße Victor Jara of the Studierendenwerk Berlin. 

This dormitory is located less than 30 min. by public transport/bicycle from our Treskowallee Campus (Business Faculty) and around 45 minutes from our Wilhelminenhof Campus (all other faculties).

What?

In the Residence Oberfeldstraße Victor Jara only single apartments (Apartment for one person) are offered to exchange students, acommodating one person only. These apartments are NOT suitable for couples.

All single apartments have got a pantry kitchen and a private bathroom/toilet. They are equipped with a bed, a closet, a desk and a book shelf. Personal belongings such as blankets, pillows, bedding, dishes etc. are not provided. Broadband internet is provided.

How much?

Monthly rent is about 390-450 EUR, depending on the size of the accommodation. Included are the costs for water, heating, electricity and internet. 

You have to pay, one time only, an one-off deposit of 2 times the monthly rent, that is 780 to 900 EUR (by bank transfer). It has to be received by the Studierendenwerk Berlin before your arrival alongside the first month's rent. It will be refunded after moving out.

When?

The rental periods are unalterable, they cannot be changed.

winter semester: 01/09 to 28/02

summer semester: 01/03 to 31/08

The minimum rental period is 6 months.

Good to know!

  • Please note that it is NOT possible to send mail or shipments to the dormitory before you have moved in.
