Educational Alliance with the German International University (GIU) in Cairo

The combination of academic teaching and practical project work is considered a winning formula at German universities of applied sciences. In the coming years, this educational concept is to be transferred to the German International University (UAS) in Cairo. The University Board of HTW Berlin has endorsed this project. With the support of several German universities (including HWR Berlin, Heilbronn University of Applied Sciences and TH Ulm), GIU is scheduled to start teaching in 2020.

Studies according to German quality standards

In the context of this project, HTW Berlin is supporting the German International University (UAS) in establishing a modern teaching programme according to German quality standards. Various degree programmes (e.g. International Business, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Industrial Design) are to be implemented and consolidated for this purpose. It is hoped that the funding or financing of the project will be facilitated by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD); corresponding applications are pending.

With approximately 11,000 students and 71 degree programmes, it has a reputation as one of the most renowned and diverse universities on the African continent.
