We are delighted that you are interested in the student exchange programmes at HTW Berlin, the University of Applied Sciences.

We have partnerships with over 180 Universities of Applied Sciences in Europe and around the world. This facilitates the acceptance of study load. Are you unsure whether your university has an agreement with HTW Berlin for your degree programme? If yes, please contact your outgoing coordinator at the international office of your home university or take a look at our partner universities.

HTW Berlin offers a wide range of degree programmes and courses in variety of subject areas. There is also a special programme for international exchange students, called HORIZON programme, which offers courses taught in English.

Would you like to study in English? Many Bachelor and Master degree programmes offer courses taught in English for international students. Take a look at the HORIZON programme right away.

Please note: If you are interested in any degree programme at HTW Berlin, you must fulfill the language requirements. You will need to provide proof of the required language profiency when you apply. It is not sufficient to provide it later!

If you are interested in the student exchange programme at HTW Berlin, make sure you gather information about the study programme on time. Are your home university and HTW Berlin partner institutions? Do the offered courses match with your demands?

These steps have to be taken to apply successfully at HTW Berlin:

1. Nomination: Your home university must nominate you for the student exchange programme at HTW Berlin. This takes place digitally via our Mobility Online portal.
2. Invitation: HTW Berlin will send you an invitation to apply for the student exchange programme. What documents are required? Please check out the detailed information online well before the application deadline !
3. Application: Now it is your turn! Upload all the required documents to our Mobility Online portal . 
4. Confirmation: We will review the applications and request additional documents if necessary. Finally, you will receive a letter of acceptance. 

What happens next?

The winter semester at HTW Berlin usually begins on 1st of October and the summer semester on the 1st of April. Nominations and applications always take place one semester in advance. For example, the process for the summer semester of 2027 starts in the winter semester of 2026/27.  

Winter semester: 

1. Nomination: until Mid-April
2. Invitation: until end of April
3. Application: until Mid-May
4. Confirmation: until end of June

Summer semester:

1. Nomination: until Mid-October
2. Invitation: until end of October
3. Application: until Mid-November
4. Confirmation: until end of December
