NC degree programmes

Step 1:
Please register on the Hochschulstart website if you are applying for your first semester and your preferred degree programme is subject to a numerus clausus requirement.

Are you already registered with Hochschulstart? Now all you need to do is apply for a study place! To do this, you will need your Hochschulstart access data (BID and BAN).

Step 2:

You should apply via the HTW Berlin application portal if one of the following requirements applies to you:

  • You have a German higher education entrance qualification.
  • You are a national of an EU or EEA country.
  • You are changing your degree programme within HTW Berlin.
  • You have successfully completed a preparatory course (Studienkolleg) in Germany.

The following application periods apply:

  • Winter semester: 15.05. - 15.07.
  • Summer semester: 15.11. - 15.01.

or

You should apply via uni-assist if you

  • have a foreign higher education entrance qualification and
  • are not a national of an EU or EEA country.

  • Winter semester: 02.04. - 30.06.
  • Summer semester: 01.10. - 31.12.

Other degree programmes

Apply directly via the HTW application portal (without prior Hochschulstart registration) if you meet one of the following requirements:

Your preferred degree programme is not subject to the NC requirement.
You have passed an aptitude test for a design- or culture-related degree programme.
You are applying for your 2nd semester or a higher semester.

Application periods for the design- and culture-related degree programmes with aptitude tests:

  • Winter semester: 15.05. - 30.09.
  • Summer semester: 15.11. - 31.03.

Application periods for degree programmes not subject to the NC requirement:

  • Winter semester: 15.05. - 15.07.
    (Any free study places will be extended on an ongoing basis until max. 30.09.)
  • Summer semester: 15.11. - 15.01.
    (Any free study places will be extended on an ongoing basis until max. 30.03.)

Application period for the O ja! orientation year:

  • Summer semester: 15.11. - 15.01.

Application periods from the 2nd semester onwards:

  • Winter semester: 15.05. - 15.07.
  • Summer semester: 15.11. - 15.01.
