If you embarked on a period of service (e.g. Federal Voluntary Service, Development Service or Youth Voluntary Service) during or shortly before your admission to your chosen degree programme at HTW Berlin and you were therefore unable to commence your studies, you are eligible to apply for preferential admission.

You can apply for preferential admission in the event that

• you were already admitted to your chosen degree programme in the previous semester (or in the penultimate semester for degree programmes that start once a year).
• your start of service coincided with or fell shortly before the admission date.

The application for preferential admission is made as part of your regular application via the HTW Berlin application portal. The application can only be considered if all required evidence has been submitted within the application deadline.

• Letter of admission to the chosen degree programme from the previous (or penultimate) semester
• Certificate of service (regarding the duration and commencement of your service)
