Teaching
As a professor, your work has a clear focus on application-oriented teaching. With a teaching load of 18 weekly study hours, professors at Universities of Applied Sciences (UAS) have a more extensive teaching commitment than their colleagues at other universities. One unique aspect, however, is the opportunity to organise your course in a practically relevant way. The classic lecture format is a rarity at HTW Berlin. As a professor, you accompany and teach students in the context of projects, seminars and cooperations, such as those with society and industry, for instance. At HTW Berlin, you generally teach small groups of students. This gives you the opportunity to personalise knowledge transfer and support students more individually.
In order to provide you with the best possible support when you start teaching as a professor at HTW Berlin, you can take part in the university’s New Appointees Programme. In addition, our Teaching Support Centre provides you with ongoing support in the further development of your courses.
Do you still lack the necessary teaching experience? Would you like to gain further qualifications before applying for a professorship? Then find out about our current teaching positions [GER]. You can also register to take part in the Future Professors Programme at HTW Berlin.
