Transfer Unit

The Transfer Unit reports to the Vice-President for Research, Transfer and Science Communication. The team strategically establishes new links with the business community and wider society, maintains relationships with key multipliers, and injects fresh impetus into the university’s transfer activities.

The Transfer Unit supports transfer activities at the university and works to consolidate transfer structures and raise the profile of HTW Berlin as a university with a strong focus on knowledge transfer. Particular emphasis is placed on collaboration with the local community and on fostering dialogue between academia and society.

Collaboration with regional transfer stakeholders, as well as participation in specialist networks and relevant events, help to strengthen the innovation ecosystem in the metropolitan region. Examples of this include the SME Office, the inter-university project “Zukunft findet Stadt” (“Urban Future Calling”) and our involvement in the Berlin Schöneweide business and science hub.

Targeted communication ensures that transfer activities are widely publicised, including through regular updates in the online magazine “Campus Stories” and via the newsletter “Forsch in die Zukunft” (“Research for the Future”). At the same time, we monitor current developments in the field of transfer, such as new forms of collaboration, funding landscapes and innovative transfer formats, in order to strategically prepare the university for future challenges and opportunities in the research and innovation landscape.

Communication tailored to specific target groups ensures that transfer activities are widely and regularly publicised, via science communication channels and the distribution of the newsletter “Forsch in die Zukunft” (“Research for the Future”).
