student assistant (m/f/d) in support of the research project on the Global Financial Safety Net

The research project on the Global Financial Safety Net led by Prof. Dr. L. Mühlich as part of the Money, Finance, Trade and Development research cluster in Department 3 is looking for a

student assistant (m/f/d)

to start as soon as possible in the winter semester 25/26, working 40 hours per month.

As a student assistant, you will support the staff in the research project on the Global Financial Safety Net in carrying out their research tasks.

You should have experience in handling large and complex data sets and visualizing macroeconomic data.

Your tasks will include

  • Independent research activities to update the research project website.
  • Independent creation of graphics, tables, and development of analytical visualizations for third-party funding applications and research projects.
  • Creation and visualization of descriptive statistics on economic data.
  • Independent evaluation of extensive panel data concerning various research questions on the global financial safety net and macroeconomic development of developing and emerging countries.
  • Editorial processing of scientific texts in English, preferably also in German.

This should be your profile

  • You are studying in a bachelor's or master's program with economics modules.
  • You are enrolled at a university of applied sciences or a university in Berlin for at least another year.
  • You have advanced knowledge of data processing programs such as MS Excel and can use them independently to process large and complex data sets.
  • You enjoy developing analytical graphics.
  • You are fluent in English (preferably level B2).
  • You work independently and are motivated to contribute new ideas to research activities.

You should possess strong organizational and communication skills, be a team player, be highly flexible, be able to work under pressure when dealing with tasks that need to be completed on short notice and are subject to rapid change, and be able to work independently.

The position is remunerated in accordance with the applicable collective agreement for student assistants (TV-Stud III - KAV).
