Reserving a Dormitory Room

Please note that we have a limited contingent of dormitory places and that it cannot be guaranteed that all applicants also receive a room. However, in the past almost all dormitory applications have been successful. In case your application for a room should be unsuccessful, we will notify you around 2 1/2 months before the Welcome Meeting so you will still have enough time to find accommodation on the regular housing market.

If you would like us to apply for a dormitory place on your behalf please make the accordant choice during your application on Mobility Online.

Please note that the allocation of rooms is random and it is not possible for us to take special preferences into account. e.g. with regards to the location of the dormitory or the type of apartment. We only offer single apartments which house one person only and are not suitable for couples. So if you decide on applying for a dormitory during your application on Mobility Online, please make sure that you are ok with both locations listed below:

Victor Jara Studierendenwohnheim

- More than 95 % or our Exchange students who have successfully been allocated a room will be accommodated in this dormitory -

Address of the dormitory:

Oberfeldstraße 111-132
12683 Berlin (Biesdorf)

This dormitory is located around 15-20 min. by public transport/bicycle from our Treskowallee Campus (Business Faculty) and around 35-40 minutes from our Wilhelminenhof Campus (all other faculties).

Almost all rooms are 18 m² but a couple of rooms are bigger than that, which will also reflect in the rent which ranges from 275 to 315 EUR depending on size. A one-off deposit of 1 1/2 times the monthly rent needs to be paid (by credit card or bank transfer) alongside the first month's rent upon arrival and will be refunded after moving out. The minimum rental period is 6 months. In any case always the entire monthly rent needs to be paid even if you are arriving (or leaving) anytime during the month.

You can find more information regarding this dormitory here. However please note that the fully furnished "Apartment for one person" is the only option available to our exchange students and that it is not possible to apply directly to the dormitory but only during the application process on the Mobility Online platform.
