Werdegang
Prof. Dr. Sebastian Knorr studied electrical engineering at the TU Berlin and received his PhD for his work on 2D-to-3D video conversion at the department for communication systems with distinction in 2008. In 2009 and 2014 he founded imcube labs GmbH and Beijing imcube Technologies Co., Ltd., respectively, and managed both companies as CEO. During this time, he also worked on 3D TV, cinema and giant screen projects as post-conversion stereographer. Between 2017 and 2020, he was senior research scientist and lecturer at TU Berlin and at Trinity College Dublin. In 2020, Sebastian became professor at the EAH Jena. Since 2024, he is professor for visual computing at the HTW Berlin. His research interests are immersive imaging technologies, in particular light field imaging, neural rendering and cinematic VR. Sebastian is a senior member of the IEEE, member of the ACM and member of the FKTG. He was Associate Editor of the IEEE Trans. on Multimedia and Associate Editor of the IEEE Trans. on Image Processing, and is currently Senior Area Editor of the IEEE Trans. on Image Processing.
