EUonAIR Blended Intensive Programme in Zagreb: “Introduction to AI and LLMs in Finance”
29 June – 10 July 2025

As part of the European University Alliance EUonAIR, students from HTW Berlin participated in a Blended Intensive Programme at the Zagreb School of Economics and Management (ZSEM). Over two weeks, participants explored the fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence and Large Language Models with a focus on financial applications, including the use of AI tools to accelerate and enhance financial analysis. A highlight of the programme was the EUonAIR conference in Zagreb, featuring keynote talks by Nobel laureates Prof. Joel Mokyr (Economic Sciences) and Prof. John M. Martinis (Physics).

International Week: Teaching and Collaboration
23–26 June 2026

In June 2026, HTW Berlin hosted the International Week of Teaching and Global Collaboration, providing a platform for international exchange and academic collaboration.

Among the participants were two representatives from EUonAIR partner institutions: Prof. Sasha Molotkova (Universitat Abat Oliba CEU, Spain), who contributed a presentation titled "Narratives as Infrastructure: Think Tanks, Strategic Communication, and the Information Environment of the Russia–Ukraine War," and Prof. Mohamed Makhlouf (ESSCA, France), who delivered a lecture on "Governance of Artificial Intelligence."

DAAD Delegation from the USA and Canada visits HTW Berlin
Juni 23, 2026

HTW Berlin welcomed a delegation from the DAAD programme “Germany Today,” hosting 23 representatives from universities in Canada and the United States. The visit to the Wilhelminenhof campus focused on international collaboration, innovative teaching approaches, applied research, and new forms of transatlantic higher education cooperation.

As part of a final poster session, EUonAIR was presented.

Long Night of the Sciences
June 6, 2026

EUonAIR was represented at the Long Night of the Sciences with a diverse programme. Visitors had the opportunity to learn more about the project at an information booth, while several professors and research associates offered workshops on the topic of AI.

Hackathon "Tokyo Vibe, Warsaw Drive"
May 21, 2026

As part of the hackathon “Tokyo Vibe, Warsaw Drive,” Prof. Dr. Florian Koch from HTW Berlin delivered a virtual lecture at our EUonAIR partner institution, the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology (PJAIT).

In his talk, “Urban Digital Twins: Exploring Case Studies and Use Cases for Sustainable Urban Development,” he demonstrated how digital twins can support sustainable and data-driven urban development.

 

Europe Week
May 4–9, 2026

On the initiative of the DAAD, events are held annually around Europe Day on May 9 at universities that are part of the European University Network (EUN). For the first time, HTW Berlin also participated with a social media campaign on Instagram and LinkedIn, as well as an information booth on the Treskowallee campus, which provided students with information about the EUonAIR university alliance and the various opportunities to study abroad.

Presentation of EUonAIR to the Academic Senate
April 27, 2026

At the end of April, Prof. Dr. Katharina Simbeck presented EUonAIR to the university’s Academic Senate. The committee was briefed on the project’s goals and objectives, past events such as BIPs and hackathons, and future developments, such as MyAI University.

Symposium on Behavioral AI in Education, Work, and Decision-Making
April 8-9, 2026

Dr. Yannick Kalff presented research results from the project “TranKI – Standards for Transparent AI” at the EUonAIR partner university ESSCA. In the project he collaborates with Prof. Dr. Katharina Simbeck. The study focused on HR managers who were presented with AI-supported dashboards from HR software. It examined how trustworthy, reliable, and useful they perceived the information displayed on these dashboards.

 

 

EUonAIR x Orientation Days
April 1, 2026

As part of the orientation week for first-year students at HTW Berlin, the International Office had a stand set up to inform new students about the opportunities for studying abroad and to draw their attention to the EUonAIR university alliance.
