​While Graphics Processing Units (GPUs) were originally designed for accelerating computations in digital image processing, they have been identified as a game-changing technology for several other applications such as training neural networks or mining cryptocurrencies. In this project, we explore whether similar breakthroughs are possible for solving production planning and scheduling problems in large-scale real-world scenarios defined by our industry partner SAP SE.​
