GREEN-MOBILITY - Green Transition and Sustainable Smart Mobility: University Alliance (GREEN-MOBILITY)
The project drives Ukraine’s HEI modernization and EU integration through the Knowledge Triangle (research-education-innovation).
Aligned with “Build Back Greener” principles, it focuses on Capacity Building to support energy-efficient urban regeneration and climate-neutral mobility in compliance with the EU transport acquis. By establishing a University Alliance, the project positions HEIs as Centres of Excellence, fostering Quadruple Helix synergies (academia, business, government, and civil society). The core output is a Network of UMS-Labs across strategically selected Ukrainian universities, designed to deliver practice-oriented learning outcomes for students and professionals. The project methodology is based on intensive knowledge transfer from EU partners in integrated planning, in response to post-war challenges, to meet mobility needs on a sustainable and inclusive basis. This will enable Ukrainian HEIs to modernize curricula, update educational content and provide individual learning pathways within a Lifelong Learning (LLL)
framework. It implements blended learning and digital tools, offering an interdisciplinary course and micro-credentials addressing real-world urban challenges. The project’s long-term impact is to establish a sustainable mechanism for integrating "green" technology through UMS-Labs, operating across three strategic levels. At the institutional level, the project transforms university accelerators into functional bridges between academia and the market, advancing the objectives of the EU Smart and Sustainable Mobility Strategy. At the economic level, it fosters innovative entrepreneurship and supports the scaling-up of eco-friendly transport solutions. At the regional level, the project contributes to aligning Eastern Partnership transport networks with EU climate-neutrality standards, strengthening long-term environmental resilience.
