This showcase presents five Bachelor projects from the Communication Design program at HTW Berlin, all focusing on transmedial and immersive design practices.
Created within the framework of the Immersive Technologies Hub (ITH) and supervised by Prof. Pablo Dornhege, the works explore how emerging media can expand the boundaries of communication, perception, and storytelling.
From interactive audiovisual machines and VR installations on queer encounter culture, to poetic and meditative journeys through virtual metamorphosis, feminist perspectives, and immersive artist portraits — each project translates complex social, aesthetic, and emotional themes into experiential media forms.
Together, they illustrate how design education at HTW Berlin engages with the challenges and potentials of hybrid realities, fostering new ways of sensing, narrating, and connecting across physical and digital worlds.
