Financing your studies
Students in Germany have an average budget of 800 euros per month at their disposal for financing their living expenses. The money comes from their parents, is earned through part-time jobs or is covered by the German state student grant or loan (BAföG). Only a small percentage of students receive a scholarship. Students are generally unable to save much money because they need nearly all of their 800 euros per month to cover their costs. The biggest expense is accommodation.
