Cooperative Control of Wind Turbines in a Wind Farm (CoWiFarm, SCHU 3174/2-1 )
In this research project, a distributed and cooperative estimation and control algorithm is developed for the optimal control of single wind turbines and wind farms. Based on the influence of each turbine in a wind farm, a neighborhood graph consisting of nodes and edges is generated. The sensor measurements of neighboring wind turbines are fused by each node to develop a decentralized parameter and state estimation of the wind farm. The heading, load and pitch control of each wind turbine is also performed decentrally but in cooperative manner to capture the maximum possible wind power in the wind farm.
